About
A specialist engineering practice of RelaNex Group.
RelaNex Energy focuses on one discipline: relay protection. The studies that set it, the logic that drives it and the modernization that keeps it suited to the system it protects.

Our focus
Why a specialist practice
Protection engineering is often treated as a line item inside a larger electrical package. Yet settings, logic and scheme design decide whether a fault becomes a short event in a disturbance record — or a wider outage and damaged equipment.
This website is the specialist destination for that work: for understanding a protection problem, defining the engineering it needs, and developing a documented solution. Our approach is vendor-independent, our deliverables state their basis and their limits, and we work with your team rather than around it.

RelaNex Energy — a specialist engineering practice of RelaNex Group.
RelaNex Group's main website gives the corporate overview of the group and its wider services. This site concentrates on protection engineering only.
Principles
What you can expect
-
01
Vendor-independent judgement
Recommendations follow from your system and requirements, not from a product range. Mixed-vendor installations are treated on their merits.
-
02
A documented basis for every decision
Settings and design decisions are recorded with the data, assumptions and criteria behind them, so your engineers can review and reuse them.
-
03
Clear scope and boundaries
Each deliverable states what it covers and what it does not — a study is not commissioning, and a test plan is not a test record.
-
04
Practical collaboration
Engineering is developed remotely with review points agreed with your team, and site activities are planned only where the scope requires them.
Who we work with
The people who own, run and build protection systems
-
Industrial plant owners and operators
When a trip stops production, or a plant change raises questions about whether protection still fits.
-
Electrical maintenance and reliability managers
When aging relays, missing documentation or unexplained operations need a clear engineering view.
-
Protection and control engineers
When you need a second pair of hands or an independent review of settings, logic or a design.
-
Engineering managers and project teams
When a project needs a defined protection scope, deliverables and review points.
-
Utilities and infrastructure operators
When network changes, connections or modernization programmes need protection studies and settings work.
-
EPC contractors, consultants and panel builders
When a package needs protection philosophy, settings, logic or I/O definitions delivered to a schedule.
How we work across distances
Calculations, reviews, settings development and documentation can be delivered through remote engineering collaboration, which allows us to support projects internationally. Any site activity depends on the agreed scope and arrangements for each project.
Switching, physical testing, commissioning and operational acceptance are carried out by appropriately authorised personnel under the site's own arrangements. Where a project needs a presence on site, it is agreed explicitly in the scope.
Start a conversation
Tell us what your system is doing — and what you need it to do.
A few lines are enough to start. We will ask for drawings, settings or records later, through a channel agreed with you — there is no need to send them with your first message.
